Kirikowhai Mikaere is a leading Māori data and information specialist focused on harnessing information to empower iwi, hapū, whānau and community development.
A consultant with over 18 years’ experience advising Ministers, government agencies, tribal, community and private sector organisations with practical statistical analysis and innovative place based data solutions.
With a bi-cultural education and upbringing, intensive technical training, and hands-on experience with diverse communities, Kirikowhai brings a unique perspective to development opportunities.
She is currently a technical advisor to the Iwi (Tribal) Chairs Forum - Data Leadership Group, and deputy chair of the Māori hauora provider Manaaki Ora Trust.
Erena Mikaere

Erena is of Ngāti Whakaue and Tūhourangi descent.
An experienced executive manager of people, projects and change for the last 14 years. Erena believes that we have the knowledge systems and the resources at hand to address and progress the challenges our people and our globe face today.
Our indigenous lense is one that intrinsically is based on the connection of wellbeing between our environment and ourselves as human beings. We must always listen, respect and act to enhance this connection.
A practitioner of translating strategic intent into action and impactful outcomes, using a sprinkle of creative genuis.
More recently Erena has been leading innovative whānau-focussed change through the Ruapehu Whānau Transformation Plan - an example of integrated development from which multiple ground-breaking products of change have been established.
Erena leads the Strategy and Indigenous Innovation work for Development by Design.
